Last week Beautywithmagazine was present for the launch of the PIECES HOME collection as part of the Sight Unseen curatorial takeover of the A/D/O Shop. Sight Unseen is an online magazine focused on up and coming trends in design and visual arts. They have collaborated with the A/D/O shop to curate exhibitions of independent makers disrupting the conventional boundaries of design in New York.
The event took place at the A/D/O Shop, located at 29 Norman Ave in Brooklyn, and served drinks in addition to an ambiance provided by a live DJ. The A/D/O shop in Greenpoint serves as a workspace for designers as well as a space for the exhibition of their efforts.
The PIECES HOME collection was designed by the Brooklyn-based creative agency, An Aesthetic Pursuit. On their website the founders of An Aesthetic Pursuit describe the product line as being “all about options. Playing with color, shape, and material, every element of our products is customizable. The options are only limited by your imagination.”
The collection itself had a sporting motif which led to the introduction of the “Court Series.” The second collection in the Pieces home furnishing line, the collection consisted of rugs, stools, and ceramics, among other items, which incorporated familiar athletic imagery into innovative interior design.
