Covering the SAY Gala: A Night of Stars, Bowling, and Impact
I had the honor of attending the SAY Gala, a red carpet event filled with actors, musicians, and supporters—including Paul Rudd, known for his roles in The Avengers, Ant‑Man, Clueless, and the heartfelt comedy‑drama The Fundamentals of Caring (2016).
During the evening, Paul shared that his connection to SAY began with a role in a play where he portrayed a character who stuttered. That experience opened his eyes to the importance of communication and the challenges faced by young people with speech impediments. SAY—The Stuttering Association for the Young—is dedicated to helping kids build confidence in their voices, supporting them in school, college, and beyond. Their programs include mentorship and Camp SAY, a place where children can grow in a supportive community.
The gala was hosted at Frames Bowling Lounge in Times Square, where guests bowled for charity, laughed together, and celebrated SAY’s mission. The atmosphere was electric — a mix of celebrity energy, community spirit, and heartfelt purpose.
This event wasn’t just about strikes and spares; it was about giving kids who stutter the tools and encouragement to thrive. It was a wonderful evening and a truly great cause.
