Cardi B & Bruno Mars new video “Finesse” throwback style from Living Color

Channeling In Living Color in all its glory, Bruno Mars pays homage to the ’90s sketch show with his new music video for “Finesse (Remix)” featuring Cardi B. In the video, Mars and Cardi, dripping in era-appropriate style, dance their hearts out on a sound stage while the video’s version of Fly Girls show off their moves on a balcony above. “Finesse” was originally released on Mars’s 2016 album 24K Magic, but the remix, with a guest rap verse from Cardi B, is new. Bruno Mars set his way-back machine precisely to the early 1990s R&B world of Jodeci, Bell Biv Devoe et al — but he and Cardi B have taken the song and the era to whole a new level with the remix and video, which dropped early Thursday. An homage to the classic TV show “In Living Color” the video’s look and synchronized dance moves vividly evoke the era, but it’s Cardi who puts the song and the video over the top.
