🎶 A Night of Legendary Women in Music at SummerStage
Date: Sunday, June 22 Location: SummerStage, New York City
This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of attending an unforgettable evening at SummerStage, where the spotlight shone brightly on a lineup of incredibly talented women in music.
🌟 Wendy & Lisa – Icons from The RevolutionH
The night kicked off with a powerful performance by Wendy & Lisa, best known as members of Prince’s legendary band, The Revolution. Their set was a nostalgic journey through some of Prince’s most beloved hits. They performed:
“Electric Blue”
“Raspberry Beret”
And the timeless anthem, “Purple Rain”
Their chemistry and musicianship were electric, and the crowd was completely captivated.
Next up was the phenomenal Lisa Fischer, whose 1991 hit “How Can I Ease the Pain” remains a classic. While she didn’t perform that particular song, she showcased her stunning vocal range and emotional depth, leaving the audience in awe.
🎶 Joan Osborne & Vanessa Carlton – Soulful and Sweet
Joan Osborne brought her signature soulful sound to the stage, followed by Vanessa Carlton, who performed her iconic hit “A Thousand Miles.” That song always brings a smile to my face—especially because it reminds me of the hilarious scene from White Chicks with Marlon Wayans and Terry Crews!
💫 A Celebration of Women in Music
What made the evening even more special was that every performer was a woman—each one bringing her own unique style, voice, and energy to the stage. It was a true celebration of female artistry and talent.
I left the concert feeling inspired and uplifted. There’s something magical about live music, especially when it’s delivered by such powerful and iconic women. SummerStage never disappoints, and this night was no exception.
