Nobody does spring couture like Lebanese designer Elie Saab. As you know, the fashion house Elie Saab decided to skip the participation in the Haute CoutureWeek in Paris, which was held from 25 to 28 January. The brand decided to wait for the right time to present its couture collection. This moment has come now.Elie Saab and his team immersed all viewers to the unreal world of dreams and mystic, where everyone could feel like a hero of a grotesque fairy tale.

This year has become a difficult one for the designer. In addition to the pandemic, which pretty much knocked down the fashion world, the explosion in Beirut destroyed both the house of Elie Saab and his atelier. But despite all the difficulties Elie Saab created a spectacular collection of evening gowns, regal dresses, echoing the exquisite costumes from the Black Swan. Luxurious dark flowing dresses dyed with lace, feathers and airy flounces charmed the audience. It seemed that the models were not walking on the catwalk, but hovering over it.

Paired with black, white acted, diluting and softening the dark palette. Ghostly white beaded dresses floated through the runway fog with unearthly elegance. Airy translucent trains complemented the fabulous images of the models. The show closed with a bridal inspired sequence, the model’s hair adorned with glittery, embellished veils. 

The whole collection was like a fairy tale, an escape from reality. And this is not surprising, because after all the events of the past, people want to move away from the huge number of problems that have happened. The designer and his team gave this opportunity to all viewers of the show.
