Brooklyn Museum First Saturdays

Attending the Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturdays, especially during Black History Month, was an unforgettable experience. Upon arrival, I joined the queue to collect my free ticket. Once inside, the vibrant energy was palpable with vendors offering a diverse range of products—from clothing and food to body butter and unique black Anime books.

The room was brimming with excellence and creativity. One highlight was Lillie Mae Handmade Aromatherapy Products LLC http://Lillie Mae Handmade, which offers a variety of essential oil-based and fragrance-driven products. Their line includes luxurious body butters, creams, and bath products. I couldn’t resist purchasing their Santorini soap and body butter.

Another memorable purchase was a pair of stylish glasses from Eyes Exclusive. You can check them out here. https://www.eyesexclusive.com/ Overall, the event was a wonderful celebration of culture and entrepreneurship, and I can’t wait for the next First Saturday!

The food was also a highlight, with vendors offering Caribbean cuisine, African dishes, and tacos. My favorite was the salmon patty, which I tried for the first time. I’ve had other types of patties before, like beef, spinach, and chicken, but the salmon patty was a delightful new experience.

First Saturdays occur from February to June, and in August from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. In October, the event extends from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. I highly recommend attending these events for anyone interested in culture, creativity, good music, and excellent food!
