She Is 2026: Women of the World, Women of the Moment

She Is 2026: A Continued Celebration of Women in Contemporary Art

One Art Space continued its Women’s Month programming with the debut of “She Is 2026,” which opened on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Serving as a companion to the gallery’s earlier exhibition, this second installment refines the curatorial vision while expanding the conversation around women’s artistic expression. The exhibition features a dynamic roster of artists, including Amdrita, Angelina Salgado, Ashley Medici, Brielle Bonetti, Frédérique Ilonga, Jean Chiang, Jennifer Davis, Luciana Pampalone, Monali Ghosh, Monisa Parekh, NancyLee Cidoni, Rosa Guadalupe, Sandra H. Andersen, SunHe Hong, Tatiana Grace, Madhu Powar Garg, and Toby Rabiner. Several artists return from the first show, creating a sense of continuity, while new voices introduce fresh perspectives and textures.

A Gallery Bridging Generations of Art

Since opening in 2011, One Art Space has built a reputation for presenting a wide spectrum of artistic practices. Its exhibitions have included influential figures such as Al Diaz, Shepard Fairey, Andrew Salgado, and Purvis Young, whose works appear in major institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The gallery’s ground‑level space—defined by its glass façade and abundant natural light—creates an atmosphere of openness. This accessibility reflects its broader mission: connecting established artistic legacies with emerging talent.

A Space Led by Women, For Women

Co‑owners MaryAnn Giella McCulloh and Mei Fung continue to shape One Art Space as a platform dedicated to elevating women in the arts. “She Is 2026” reinforces that commitment through a diverse mix of painting, photography, sculpture, and digital media. Each artist contributes a personal yet expansive viewpoint, forming a collective dialogue around identity, authorship, and presence in contemporary culture.

IWD 2026”: Opening the Conversation

The gallery’s Women’s Month programming began with “IWD 2026,” which opened on March 7, 2026, in honor of International Women’s Day. Although I did not attend this exhibition, its curatorial framework set the tone for the month’s celebrations. “IWD 2026” featured artists such as Cleopatra Browne, Friday Jones, Frédérique Ilonga, Jean Chiang, Jules Schaffer, Kaori Yasumoto, Kikyo, Kumi Hirose, Luciana Pampalone, Monali Ghosh, Monica Holder, Monisa Parekh, Motoko Otsuki, SunHe Hong, Suyapa Quinn, Tatiana Grace, and Tanja Momcilovic. Together, their works formed a layered narrative that moved across mediums and cultural influences, offering viewers a multifaceted look at contemporary female artistry.
