New York Men’s fashion week has come and gone, and with it a sneak peak of all Spring and Summer 2019’s hottest looks. The urban fashion brand Sylvian Hyde was one of many to debut their newest designs throughout the city. Named for the space that inspired it, the Urban Oasis Spring Summer 2019 Collection was revealed on a beautiful summer evening at the Lily Pond in Battery Park City in Lower Manhattan.
Marking Sylvian Hyde’s second season, the Urban Oasis collection carried on the designer’s tradition of carving out an escape from the stuffy conventions of menswear. “Color, sex appeal, functionality and novelty” are listed as the cornerstones of the collection on Sylvian Hyde’s blog.
The show featured risqué and innovative designs, showing much more skin than is traditionally expected in the mainstream menswear of the last 100 years.
The collection echoed the space that hosted it, with bright blues, greens, and oranges reflecting the urban nature of Battery City Park in the form of the coy fish, greenery, and water of the lily pond.
